Chamber Music

On Friday October 5th at 12.45pm we are performing a lunchtime recital at Sarum College Chapel. We are delighted to be joined by the dazzling pianist Anita D'Attellis for a programme  of Mahler's Piano Quartet in A minor - a haunting movement of an unfinished piece, and Schumann's dazzling Piano Quintet in E flat Major. For more information about Anita see her website: www.anitapiano.com

National Prepatory School Orchestras Courses 2017

'We were pleased to be able to return to Wellington College, Berkshire, once more for a special concert. The National Preparatory School Orchestra Courses (NPSO) run every year in July and, as a supporter of the courses, we put on a midweek concert for the children. The aim is to both entertain and inspire them as they embark on their own musical journeys during the week-long course. The music is carefully chosen and this year we really enjoyed performing two movements from Bantock's Scenes from the Scottish Highlands. It's become something of a tradition that we invite children to try conducting the orchestra - it's always good fun and interesting how they react! A real high point this year though, was accompanying one of the harp students on the course in a performance of Debussy's Danse Sacree et Danse Profane. Heather Brooks, 17,  is a pupil at the Purcell School and was attending the NPSO Symphony Orchestra Course. We were bowled over by her beautiful playing and the children were mesmerised. Heather will definitely be one to watch and we very much enjoyed playing for her.'
